Hello Cougars! My name is Rhonda Pertell and I am the new 6 th grade counselor at Wake Forest-Rolesville Middle School. I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself and tell you how I will help your child “Expect to Win.” I am a native of South Carolina where I received my BS from South Carolina State University. In addition to my BS degree I have an M.Ed from Virginia State University. Prior to moving to North Carolina, I have worked as an elementary school counselor for five years in Richmond Public Schools (Richmond, VA) and one year as a testing coordinator and AVID counselor in Durham Public Schools. I enjoy being a counselor and I believe that every adolescent can be successful given the right amount of support, positive role models, and exposure to different learning experiences. Middle school serves as the bridge to becoming responsible and productive young adults. It is here that we not only grow through being challenged academically, but also through emotional and social experiences, both positive and negative, that shape who we are and where we strive to be in life. My role is to be a positive support in helping students realize their potential and achieve goals to prepare for the next step in life!
